Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Co-op Academy Parkland, I am proud to be the Head of Academy.

I have been teaching since 2001 and have enjoyed a happy career in a variety of schools.

I came to Parkland in 2018 and began teaching in Year 6 in addition to being Assistant Head.  I have loved my time here building relationships with our families and was thrilled to be appointed as Head of Academy in June 2022.  I have a personal interest in improving the outcomes for every child within our academy; especially when it comes to careers related learning. I am determined to provide a high quality education which develops aspirations and challenges stereotypes along the way.

I have seen many changes and following our recent Ofsted report, I am beginning to see green shoots of positive change and am excited for the next chapter. I chose to work for the Trust as the Ways of Being resonated with me as a belief system which underpins everything we do.  I love the opportunities for collaborative working and how the Trust invests in developing leaders at all levels.

Each and every day, I feel a great deal of pride in the diverse community of children, parents, carers and staff and how we strive to ensure all children become the best versions of themselves.  We offer an ambitious and diverse curriculum which starts right at the beginning of your child’s journey with us.

We take a holistic approach to the education of our children and during their time with us, they develop a wide range of skills and attributes that prepare them for the next stage in their education.  We place great emphasis on developing the whole child through focusing on good manners, honesty, showing respect, cooperation and collaboration, taking responsibility for themselves and others, doing the right thing even when it is not always the easiest thing, being kind and following our Ways of Being.

Our focus is on meeting the individual needs of every child to ensure they develop the skills they need to reach their full potential and be ready for secondary school.  We encourage parents and carers to be involved in their child’s learning as much as possible, and to work in partnership with us for the benefit of your children.
