Parkland Post - Friday 10th November 2023

Wow, it's Friday already - how did that happen?  It has been another busy week which has meant it has flown by!  We have had such a positive beginning to November and there are so many exciting things to look forward to this half term.

Remembrance Assembly

It was wonderful to welcome so many of you to our Remembrance Assembly on Thursday.  We were treated to fabulous examples of poetry, artwork and an interesting presentation in Year 2 on the history of the poppy.  Well done to all of our children for their hard work and for showing they care by observing a 2-minute silence.

Odd Sock Monday and Anti-Bullying Week

Next week is Anti-Bullying Week and to launch it all, we are having Odd Sock Monday!  Come dressed in your brightest and fluffiest odd socks, so we can celebrate what makes us all unique and spread kindness.

Saluting Our Sisters Competition

HUGE congratulations to Neeyah in Year 1 and Tia in Year 5 for winning the Saluting our Sisters competition - they each won two beautiful books, which means they will be able to continue to read about inspiring people.

Parents' Evenings

These will be taking place on Tuesday 21st November 3:15-4:30 pm and Wednesday 22nd November 3:15-6 pm - a letter has been sent home with your child this afternoon. Please complete the form and send it back to school no later than Wednesday 15th November.  Thank you.

And finally...

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that the weather stays as glorious as it has been today.  Mrs Wierzbianski will be going to visit her parents who live in Scarborough, Mr Watson will be looking for a new house, so he can move closer to school, Ms Pascoe is going to lots of children's parties and Mrs Shirra will be spending some quality time with her family.
