Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!  It has been another busy week filled with learning and working together to succeed.  We began the week reading Dear Earth to celebrate World Earth Day, each class discussed what they could do to help take care of our world and the footprint we leave behind.  This links well to many of our Ways of Being: Show You Care; Do What Matters Most and Succeed Together.

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post - what a wild weather week it has been!  We began the week celebrating World Art Day in our whole school assembly with a book called 'The Artist' - why not ask your child what they remember about the book.  The children were then able to explore their own favourite artists in a class assembly on Wednesday.  Next week's theme for the week is Earth Day which is taking place on Monday the 22nd April - Mrs Wierzbianski has picked out a book which she will share with the children during assembly.

Welcome to the final Parkland Post of the spring term!  It has been a busy old term and it has been wonderful to reflect on all of the positive things going on in our academy.  I love how well attended our events have been whether it has been Book at Bedtime, Family Breakfast or our Express Yourself Day for Children's Mental Health Week.  We've had success at the various Trust sports competitions which have been expertly run by students and staff at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe and a number of our Year 6 pupils have taken part in the Trust Spelling Bee and Maths Olympics events. We have embodied one of our Ways of Being - Succeed Together.

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!  We turned our academy RED today in aid of Red Nose Day.  We started the day with a Big Family Breakfast and it was wonderful to welcome so many families (our biggest turnout ever!) - we will get you all to book in next time so we can have more than enough bacon for our sandwiches!  Thank you to Mrs Peacock, Mrs Denby, Steve from St John's Church, Mr Wilkin who helped to set up and all the staff and parents who helped to serve and clear up; we really did Succeed Together!

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post - we have had a book-filled extravaganza of a week!  Thank you to our wonderful staff team and our PTA for last night's Book at Bedtime event - it was magical to come together, share stories and enjoy a hot chocolate.  The children looked amazing in their pyjamas, comfy clothes and as book characters; you are all so creative!  Our competition for World Book Day is still open until Monday where you can decorate a potato, create a diorama, decorate a 2p coin, create a bookmark as well as many others (see our Facebook page for further information).  Bring your entries into school on Monday 11th March so we can judge them and award prizes.

Welcome to this week's wintry Parkland Post.  I wanted to start by thanking you all for collecting your children so quickly and for being patient as we organised this yesterday as a result of the snowy conditions.  Today's non-uniform day was just what we needed to get us ready for the weekend and half term holidays!

Welcome to this week’s Parkland Post! We have been very busy across the academy and there has been some amazing learning happening.  Year 3 were investigating structures and following one of our Ways of Being, Succeed Together, as they worked as a team to create bridges.  Year 1 have been impressing me with their phonics knowledge and their excitement for reading.  Mrs Shirra launched the Blue Peter Reading Badge in Monday’s assembly and we have had a few reviews from our children which we will be sending off soon.  If anyone else would like to take part in this, you could have a look at the website here:
