Parkland Post - Friday 24th November 2023
Welcome to the final newsletter of November - can you believe that next Friday is the start of December; where has the year gone? This week has flown by with two well-attended parents' evenings, thank you for joining us for these, so we could share the progress your children are making. We will feedback on the results of the parent questionnaire next week.
Cross Country Competition Winners
Our Cross Country team took part in a competition this week at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe and won gold medals for the team event and lots of other medals for individual events. Each one of our children represented our academy incredibly well - we are so proud of them.
Stronger Starts - Tesco
Do you or any of your family shop at Tesco?
If the answer is yes - you could help us with a new food project we are setting up.
It's simple; collect the blue tokens and drop them in the Co-op Academy Parkland section of the collection boxes in one of the following stores:
2168 Bradford Peel Centre BD1 4RB
2349 Crossflatts Bingley Exp BD16 2DY
4763 Northcliffe Shipley Exp BD18 3HH
5635 Bradford Sunbridge Roadd Exp BD1 2AY
6125 Baildon Otley Road Exp BD17 7HE
If you are not able to go to these stores - then please collect the tokens anyway and drop them in to school and we will put them in the boxes (Mrs Denby has her mum in Hull collecting them!).
The in-store vote will close in mid-January 2024 so we need to get as many as we can. Please share this with family and friends.
Uniform
A polite reminder to ensure your children are wearing appropriate clothes and that they are in line with our uniform. Please find our uniform page for guidance. Let us know if we can support you in any way.

AWARE is a group who support families who have children with autism (even if they don't have a formal diagnosis). If you think this might be something that would be useful, have a look at their newsletter. Find all the information attached on our Class Dojo page.
Early Years Open Evening - 28th November 5-6pm
We would like to invite you to our Early Years Open Evening on Tuesday evening from 5pm. Mrs Wierzbianski will give a short welcome and then you will be able to see our Early Years provision and meet our wonderful team. There will also be the opportunity to have a tour round our academy.
Reception Stay & Play
Reception had a wonderful "Stay and Play" yesterday. Thank you to all the families for joining us and creating memories with their children. All the children dressed up as if they were going to a wedding as part of their topic "Celebrations". We had lots of fun decorating cupcakes, making wedding cards and pictures!
Key dates
There are lots of events over the next three weeks - please keep checking Class Dojo regularly for these. Letters will be sent out for the nativity tickets next week.
And finally...
We hope you have a fabulous weekend and that you get to enjoy the cold, crisp weather. Mr Watson is going to be going to a Christmas market, Ms Pascoe is going to the theatre to see Hamilton, Mrs Shirra will be going to her friend's baby shower and Mrs Wierzbianski is recovering from a nasty bug. We will see you all bright and early on Monday morning where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
