Parkland Post - Friday 20th December 2024

Welcome to the final installment of the Parkland Post for 2024 - how did we get through the year so quickly?  I have been reflecting on what has been a good year for us at Parkland - we now have so many pupil leaders on our School Council, Co-op Young Leader Team and our Wellbeing Ambassadors who have been appointed to help make Parkland the fabulous place it is.  We have had so many families supporting us in our recent events and yesterday's Winter Fair was a huge success thanks to our PTA, pupils, staff and volunteers - we really do succeed together!  I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting us at Parkland and being part of our journey and I know we will go from strength to strength in 2025!

Winter Fair

There was such a festive feel to yesterday's Winter Fair, it was lovely having everyone come together and enjoy hot chocolates, play games and buy handmade crafts which the children had created.  Mrs Peacock's bag stall was by far the most popular one with families queuing up to grab a surprise treat or two!  Our raffle tickets were being sold so quickly that we had to get another ticket book, Mrs Flaherty needed a rest after selling so many!

Each class was given £5 by the PTA to 'grow' and they were definitely up for the challenge of making the most profit!  The winning class was Reception who will be getting a special prize as they made £43 - well done to you all!

The provisional total raised is £631.60 which I'm sure you'll agree is quite phenomenal!  We would like to thank you all for coming along to support this event as every penny goes back to our children.  The biggest thank you needs to go to our PTA who organised the Winter Fair - thank you for all of your hard work.

Support over the holidays

We know the holidays can also be tough for some families.  Please see the information below should you need some extra help.

And finally...

We hope that you all enjoy the next two weeks off whatever you are getting up to!  I'm looking forward to spending lots of time with my family and probably eating far too much chocolate!  We will return on Tuesday 7th January 2025 bright and early where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.  For all who celebrate, I wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year and I can't wait to welcome you all back after the holidays.
