Parkland Post – 24th June
This week
Welcome to this week’s Parkland Post! It has been another scorcher of a week, we’ve had lots of water and shade at the ready during our playtimes. It has been Refugee Week and on Tuesday, Mrs Heaven delivered an assembly on this theme using the story ‘There’s a Boy Like Me’. The children had a chance to think about the issues and heartaches that face children in the world today and showed such empathy.
Year 3/4 Design Technology with Hepp DT
Years 3 and 4 have had an amazing time where they created Egyptian pyramids complete with a secret door powered by pneumatics. They used their knowledge of the pyramids to design and make their final piece.
Parent Forum
We are going to hold our next Parent Forum on the 30th June at 9am. Mrs Murgatroyd will be there to chat with you about events which will be happening for the rest of this academic year and get your views on the year ahead. There will, of course, be tea, coffee and cake!
Skills Builder Home Challenge
This weekend’s home challenge is another one which focuses on this half term’s skill ‘Problem Solving’. Last week, Connor in Year 5 created a fantastic list of alternatives to plastic and gained 10 Parkland Points. It would be amazing if a few more of you would have a go at this week’s challenge.
And finally...
We hope you have a wonderful weekend, Mrs Wierzbianski will be watching Glastonbury on the television pretending that she’s in the field wearing her wellies and Ms Pascoe will be catching up with old friends visiting from Australia. We will see you bright and early on Monday morning ready for a new week of learning!
