Parkland Pupils Help To Launch New Book

Year 4 pupils recently took part in a special event to launch a new book! ‘Cones and Rural Broadband’ is the latest book to feature walking, talking traffic cones. Our children visited the University of Bradford to mark the occasion, alongside children from all over the city!
The book is the latest in a series of Cones adventures. Each story from author Chris Madeley is designed around a fun adventure that also involves navigating the dangers they encounter along the way. ‘Cones and Rural Broadband’ has been made possible thanks to broadband provider Quickline and hundreds of children across Bradford have received a free copy.
Our Year 4 pupils spent a wonderful day engaging with the ideas in the book, creating story maps, designing their own front covers and presenting to the audience, including the Lord Mayor of Bradford councillor Beverley Mullaney.
“I’m delighted that the latest instalment of this wonderful educational book series has been launched in Bradford. I hope the children enjoy reading this book and the others in the series and finding out about the different industries and the importance of safety by following the adventures of the cone characters in the books.”
We are so proud of our pupils for taking part in this special day and we were delighted that they won a £100 voucher for their hard work!
