Record attendance at our Family Breakfast

Record numbers of children, parents, carers and school staff came together for a Big Family Breakfast before school on Friday 7 February.
These breakfasts have been increasing in popularity during the year and are an important part of our work to bring our community together in a relaxed, in-person event. It allows us all to talk about what’s going on in school and in the neighbourhood, and brings joy to those that can make it.
The meal was timed to coincide with Children’s Mental Health Week and Time to Talk Day - important events that promote good mental health in our community. This breakfast was just one strand in our work on mental health that week which also included a variety of special lessons on looking after our mental health and taking part in our daily mile.
Revd Steve Nuttall joined us from St John the Divine church, Thorpe Edge and was kept busy cooking bacon and sausages for the many visitors. Food was shared freely with all who came. There was also a raffle to bring some people a bit of extra joy!
We are grateful to Mrs Flaherty, Mrs Denby and Mr Wilkin for organising the event and we look forward to opening our doors again for the next one.
