Parkland Post - Friday 13th September 2024

Welcome to the first Parkland Post of the year and what a start we have had!  I have loved walking around our academy and seeing how each class has put an individual stamp on their classrooms.  Our after school clubs are in full swing and most of them are full; it's great to see so many of our pupils enjoying taking part in them.

Attendance - THANK YOU!

Our attendance this week has been so much better than last week and that is all down to you making sure your children are in school every day and on time!  On Wednesday, we were at 96.6% which made me smile from ear to ear!
Each day that our classes reach 100%, they get to colour a letter in on their door and when the full word 'Attendance' has been coloured in, the class will receive a prize!  Our Whole School Attendance was 93.8% for the week with two classes receiving an extra playtime as their class attendance was above 96% - well done!  Congratulations to Year 4 who won the weekly prize for the highest attendance with 96.6%!

Early Years Open Evening - Tuesday 17th September 3:30-6pm

Have you noticed our banners on the fencing outside school?  We think they look gorgeous and are advertising a very important event.  Our Early Years Open Evening is taking place on Tuesday 17th September from 3:30-6pm.  Please tell anyone who you think might be interested in a Nursery or Reception place at Co-op Academy Parkland as it will be a great opportunity to meet the team, have a tour around the academy and explore our provision.  Please book your place using the link below:

Big Family Breakfast and Macmillan Coffee Morning - Friday 27th September 8am

We would like to invite you all to our BIG Family Breakfast and Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday the 27th September at 8am.  If you would like to come along and enjoy bacon and sausage sandwiches, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, pastries as well as hot drinks then book a place on Arbor.  There will be a bucket for donations to Macmillan Cancer Research.

Waterstones Visit and New Book Vending Machine

We had a brilliant time visiting Waterstones in Bradford Wool Exchange to choose the books for our vending machine.  Aishah was the first person to select a book as she became our first member of the Millionaire Club.  We are incredibly proud of Aishah's commitment to daily reading and just how much she loves books!

PE Kits

PE kits need to be in school as our PE sessions are in full swing.  We are thrilled to have Mr Parkinson back with us again this year - he is running clubs every Wednesday and Friday after school.  If you would like to buy a PE kit, you can do so through our school shop on Arbor.

And finally...

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and are able to get out into the sunshine and fresh air - the weather is definitely turning colder so wrap up warm too!  Let's see if we can improve further on our whole school attendance and continue the positive start that we have made.  This weekend, Mrs Wierzbianski is going to York, Mr Watson will be celebrating his grandad's birthday, Ms Pascoe will be having a chilled weekend with family and friends and Mrs Shirra will be enjoying tapas in Barcelona!
