Parkland Post - Friday 19th April 2024

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post - what a wild weather week it has been!  We began the week celebrating World Art Day in our whole school assembly with a book called 'The Artist' - why not ask your child what they remember about the book.  The children were then able to explore their own favourite artists in a class assembly on Wednesday.  Next week's theme for the week is Earth Day which is taking place on Monday the 22nd April - Mrs Wierzbianski has picked out a book which she will share with the children during assembly.

Attendance Matters

This week, we only had one class who were above the 96% target we have for each class which means our average for the week was 92% which is falling way below where we want it to be.  Please ensure you send your children in each day, even if they have a snuffle, a headache, a tummy ache as more often than not, they are absolutely fine when they get busy with their learning.  Well done to our winning class this week Year 1 who achieved 97.4% attendance and won an extra playtime for being above 96% and a movie treat!

Remember, we give every child who has been in school every day and on time a raffle ticket entry to our £50 prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!

Toddler Group

Come and join us every Friday for a Toddler Group from 9-10am. It will be for 1-4 years old, there will be drinks and snacks available and it will be led by Mrs Flaherty and Mrs Peacock.  Please sign up for the group by contacting our main office on 01274 611512 - we can't wait to meet you all!

And finally...

We hope you have a super weekend and that the wild weather gives us a little break for now.  Mrs Wierzbianski is having some garden furniture delivered so would quite like to be able to sit out on it with a glass of something cold, Mrs Shirra is attending a 1st birthday party, Ms Pascoe is spending time with family and Mr Watson is going to see a production of 42 balloons. Whatever you decide to do, we hope you enjoy it!  We will see you bright and early on Monday where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
